Imitate the appearance of cracked varnish layers seen on antique objects by using this classic crackle varnish system, which becomes waterproof once dry and creates fine surface cracks. First, apply Component 1 to the already decorated surface and let it dry completely. Then apply Component 2, which will crack as it dries. To highlight the cracks, rub various colouring materials - such as PENTART antique paste - into the surface. The pattern of the cracks depends on the direction of the brush strokes and the thickness of both varnish layers.
